Maia Duschatzky
Teacher, choreographer, dancer, and academy leader shaped by Miami Royal Ballet from childhood.
A Miami Royal Ballet Education
Maia Duschatzky is Co-Director of Miami Royal Ballet & Dance. She began training with her mother, Founding Director Lourdes Arteaga, at age five and grew up within the academy's classical tradition. She attended dance-focused institutions throughout her primary education while continuing her training at Miami Royal Ballet.
Her foundation is in Ballet and Pointe, supported by experience in Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. That range gives her a practical understanding of how classical placement, strength, musicality, and performance quality carry across disciplines.
Teaching and Leadership
Maia teaches Ballet, Jazz, and Lyrical, choreographs for Miami Royal Ballet dancers, and continues to dance with the academy. As Co-Director, she works alongside Lourdes Arteaga to carry the school's standards forward and support each dancer's technical, artistic, and personal development.
Her professional development includes certification from The Royal Ballet School in England. That continuing study complements the lifelong training and practical teaching experience she brings to the academy.
A Contemporary Perspective
Alongside her work at the studio, Maia has a Bachelor's in Computer Science. The discipline, analysis, and problem-solving required in that field complement the precision and thoughtful progression she brings to teaching and choreography.
Having experienced Miami Royal Ballet first as a young student and now as a teacher and Co-Director, Maia brings continuity to the academy's leadership while helping its programs serve a new generation of dancers.
