Their First Ballet Class. Their First Beautiful Memory.
Early Ballet at Miami Royal Ballet is where three- and four-year-olds discover the joy of moving to music, making friends, and becoming just a little bit braver, one class at a time.
No prior experience required. Shy children are especially welcome. Our teachers meet every child exactly where they are.

For Every 3 and 4 Year Old Who Is Ready to Try
Early Ballet is designed for children who are attending their first organized class of any kind. No prior dance experience is expected or necessary. Ever.
This is where curiosity about dance begins. Parents of shy children, energetic children, and children who have never worn ballet slippers are all equally welcome. Our teachers work with the full range of three- and four-year-old personalities, and they genuinely love it.
The class is warm, organized, and entirely age-appropriate. Every activity is built around what young children can genuinely enjoy and absorb at this developmental stage.

The curious child
Who doesn't know what ballet is yet but lights up when music plays
The shy one
Who takes a few classes to warm up, and then never wants to leave
The social butterfly
Who makes three new best friends by the second class
The energetic one
Who needs structure, movement, and a creative outlet
What Your Child Will Experience
Every element of Early Ballet is designed for the developmental stage of a 3 or 4 year old. Play, music, imagination, and real ballet foundations.
Joyful Movement to Music
Children discover how their bodies respond to rhythm: skipping, spinning, stretching, and the delight of their first pliés done their way.
Growing Confidence
Being seen, heard, and celebrated for trying. Every child in Early Ballet learns that they are capable and that they belong.
First Real Friendships
Shared giggles at the barre, remembered names, the beginning of bonds that sometimes last well beyond the studio.
Classroom Independence
Learning to follow a teacher and a routine, safely and happily, without a parent beside them. One of the most lasting gifts of a first dance class.
Musicality From the Start
Clapping beats, swaying to a waltz, counting rhythms. Musical awareness, introduced through a three-year-old's body.
Real Ballet Foundations
First position. Pliés. Port de bras. Taught through play and imagination, rooted in the real vocabulary of classical ballet.
This Is Where Young Dancers Find Their People
Miami Royal Ballet has been teaching dance in Coral Gables since 2008. Our faculty have spent careers in professional dance and decades teaching children. The way they work with 3 and 4 year olds is a craft in itself.
Early Ballet students are not taught as miniature adults. Every correction, every exercise, every transition is calibrated to what this age group can absorb, enjoy, and build on. The goal is genuine love of movement. The technique follows.
Many of our current Elementary and Intermediate students started in this exact class. This is where the journey begins for students who go on to dance for years.
Faculty Who Know This Age Group
Not every great dancer is a great teacher of 3-year-olds. Ours are. Patient, warm, structured, and experienced.
Small Class Sizes
Young children need individual attention. Our class sizes reflect that.
A Real Studio Environment
Professional mirrors, barres, and flooring. Children who train here learn what a dance studio feels like from the very beginning.
A Path Forward
Early Ballet graduates move seamlessly into our Elementary level, with the same faculty, the same community, and deepening technique.
What to Wear
Leotard
A fitted leotard appropriate for dance class. Specific color requirements, if any, will be shared after placement confirmation.
Ballet Slippers
Soft leather or canvas ballet slippers. Our team can advise on sizing and where to purchase when confirming enrollment.
Hair Up
Hair neatly secured away from the face: a bun, braid, or ponytail. Helps children see clearly and builds professional habits early.
For the trial class, any comfortable clothes your child can move in are fine. Specific requirements are shared after placement.
